Middle Backend Laravel Developer

Web Design Sun is a software development company founded in 2012. We have been fully remote since day one, building international products across Web & Cloud Applications, SaaS, CRM/ERP, and Ecommerce. We collaborate with clients from the US and Europe and consistently rank highly on Clutch, GoodFirms, and Upwork.

We are looking for a Middle Backend Laravel Developerwho wants to work on long-term projects, be involved in real product development for international clients, and gradually grow to a Senior level.

📍 Location: Candidates must be based outside Ukraine, Russia, and Belarus

What We Expect from You:

• 2+ years of commercial experience with PHP 8.x and Laravel (9/10/11)

• Strong knowledge of the Laravel ecosystem: Eloquent ORM, Migrations, Middleware, Jobs/Queues, Events/Listeners, Service Providers

• Designing, developing, and documenting REST APIs

• MySQL/PostgreSQL — writing and optimizing queries, indexing, understanding execution plans (EXPLAIN)

• Redis — caching, sessions, rate limiting

• Git — branching strategies, PR/MR workflow, participation in code reviews

• Practical application of SOLID principles and design patterns in production projects

• Hands-on experience with queues (Laravel Queues — database/Redis driver)

• English level B1+ (both written and spoken communication)

• Ukrainian / Russian language - native/C1

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Vue.js or React

• Real-time integrations (Laravel WebSockets, Pusher)

• Token-based API authentication (Laravel Sanctum)

• Containerization (Docker / Laravel Sail)

• Test coverage (PHPUnit, Pest)

Your Responsibilities:

• Develop backend systems and web applications using Laravel from scratch

• Design application architecture and APIs based on product requirements

• Maintain and scale existing projects

• Work with databases, caching systems, queues, and third-party service integrations

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and engineering improvements

• Collaborate with Project Managers, QA engineers, and the development team
